The study concerns the extension of the existing hotel in[n]Athens into the listed building located at 3 Souri Str. The building belongs to the interwar period of Athenian architecture and was erected in 1922 by Rallis family in order to host refugees from Anatolia.
The architectural study aims at re-inventing the morphological elements of the eclecticisism building, while, at the same time, incorporating the austere and "raw" aesthetics of the existing hotel. The aesthetic approach of the new building is characterised by strict geometries and the use of natural materials - raw marble, black iron elements, white walls as the background, wood and oxidized metal sheets. The study of STOA Studio of Architecture also includes the design of all fixed and mobile furniture.
